The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) and Free State Provincial Department of Economic Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA)
(a) The ERAN conference invites submission of academic and professional research abstracts of between 200 and 300 words with five to 10 key words from the full range of business and economic
(b) Submitted papers should reflect policy implications recommendations or suggestions.
(c) The following sub-thematic areas are proposed:
Corporate and consumer regulations
Reducing regulatory barriers to entry, facilitating the ease of doing business and making competition policy developmental.
Ensuring policy coherence and certainty through coordinated implementation.
Role of the state and the private sector in inclusive growth.
Measures for ensuring inclusive economic development and industrialisation.
Green economy opportunities in the provinces.
The extent to which wholesale and retail sector helps grows the economy through local content and supplier development.
Infrastructure development as hindrance of SMMEs growth in provinces.
Finance for industrial policy - the role of Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)
Sustainable industrial development models in local municipalities
The impact of government incentives on economic growth, job creation and the development of SMMEs
Trade and Investment
Inclusive export-led reindustrialisation
Supporting exporter development and market opportunities
Measures to revitalise the clothing and textile industry
The efficacy of the manufacturing incentives in the growing economy
(d)Author(s) to indicate under which theme the paper falls.
(e) Only final and completed papers will be presented at the second ERAN conference.
(f) The Conference will comprise of plenary sessions as well as break-out sessions that will feature presentations and discussions by prominent academics, policy makers, and business professionals.
(g) Peer reviewed papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
(h) Interested parties without papers/abstracts for presentation are also invited to take part as attendees at ERAN conference
(a) Submit abstract(s)/full paper(s) in Microsoft word via online (click here for guidelines and MS Word template )
(b) Abstracts/full papers received by the deadline will be peer-reviewed by an internal panel
(c) A notification of acceptance/rejection will be issued to the submitting author by an e-mail
(d) For co-authored papers/abstracts, the submitting author will serve as the corresponding author who has the responsibility to forward all correspondences to his/her co-authors.
(a) Abstracts/full papers accepted for the ERAN conference will be included in the conference proceedings.
(b) Authors are not required to transfer copyrights to ERAN.

(a) No registration fee for all participants with or without papers/abstracts for presentation at the conference.
(b) Presenters attending the conference to also register to attend.
(c) Delegates are request to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
