Introduction
The Department of Trade and Industry administers the Unfair Business
Practices Act 71 of 1988 (as amended) in terms of which certain business
practices may be declared unfair business practices and therefore prohibited
by the Minister. Any person, including a juristic person, who contravenes a
notice may face a fine not exceeding R200 000 or imprisonment for a period
not exceeding five years or both that fine and imprisonment
