Supply Chain Management Award

  1. Introduction

Over and above the actual development and production of a product, one of the key factors that impacts on the success of a company is how it manages the entire supply chain; from securing raw material inputs, to production, stock/inventory management, and finally through to marketing, distribution and sales. The aims of this management include improving efficiency, reducing costs, preventing unnecessary delays and being able to respond more readily to customer needs.

  2. Recognising Excellence

Through its supply chain management award, the dti seeks to celebrate the achievements of enterprises that:

    • Have made efforts to analyse their supply chain and identified inefficiencies or obstacles
    • Have found creative ways to deal with these inefficiencies
    • Are building effective relationships and networks with other players in their supply chains, such as suppliers, transporters/distributors, business customers/end consumers and retailers
    • Are utilising appropriate technologies to address specific dimensions in their supply chains
